About

John Morris at the WTC in New York

Our first coffee shop that felt like home was the Living Room in downtown La Jolla, California. Since then, as we moved across the States, we’ve discovered new favourite spots to enjoy a good coffee along the way.

Once we settled in Washington, DC, we found that breakfast outings were far more enjoyable than braving the evening crowds. Over the years, we sampled a wide range of spots—from trendy Georgetown favorites to local mom-and-pop cafes in quieter neighborhoods. Every place was fair game on a Sunday morning.

After moving back to the UK, we continued our search for enjoyable breakfast spots. I’ve always been more comfortable sharing images than words, but I decided it was time to step out of my comfort zone. Going forward, I’ll keep a record of the places we visit for breakfast, coffee, cake, and our other adventures along the way. My posts will lean heavily on photos rather than words—maybe, one day, hopefully, they’ll even be a little entertaining!
