The Heimatbrunnen Fountain In Düsseldorf

The final stop on our incredible train journey in late 2023 was the vibrant city of Düsseldorf. As we ventured through its streets, we discovered an array of impressive landmarks and historic buildings. The Heimatbrunnen (Home Fountain) is a charming monument and fountain that holds a special place in Düsseldorf’s cultural landscape. Dedicated to the city in 1982. This artistic piece was crafted by sculptor Karl Heinz Klein.

The fountain is adorned with intricate reliefs that narrate key moments in Düsseldorf’s history. These carvings depict significant events. From the founding of the settlement along the Düssel River to the city’s remarkable rebuilding and regeneration following the devastation of World War II.
