The Tearoom At The Owd Barn In Bispharm

We’d put together a list of farm shops and tearooms to visit. This time we pulled out the list and chose Owd Barn as our breakfast destination for the week.

Open since 1990, they now feature a tearoom, farm shop, country store, and butcher. In a separate building, The Spud Shed houses several independent businesses.

The tearoom opens at 10 a.m., and we were among the first customers. It’s made up of several cozy rooms, each offering a variety of table sizes to accommodate different party sizes.

The staff were friendly and attentive, with our order taken and delivered promptly. The coffee was good, though not outstanding—no complaints, but we’ve had better.

The eggs were excellent, but the sausages were just average. While there was nothing wrong with the meal, it wasn’t memorable enough to make us want to return.

It seemed popular and had good reviews, which is why we decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, it wasn’t for us. With the rising cost of dining out, there are still plenty of other spots to explore, as well as our established favourites.
