Exploring York One Coffee Shop at a Time

On a recent trip to York, we made it our mission to explore the city one coffee shop at a time. Our first stop, after arriving, was FortyFive Vinyl Café A music-themed gem that immediately set the tone for the day.

After wandering around the city into the early afternoon, it felt like the perfect time for a coffee break. We scoped out the options nearby and settled on Nice To See You — and we’re glad we did. Alongside our drinks, we shared an excellent scone, the kind of small indulgence that makes an afternoon in a new city feel just right.

The following day we set out to continue exploring the city. After walking along the river and through the Museum Gardens, we made our way to Sophie. Alongside our coffees, we shared a slice of blueberry and banana cake. A sweet little energy boost after a fun-filled morning.
The early afternoon was spent walking the historic York city walls and popping into a few galleries along the way. Before heading to the station, there was just enough time for one last coffee. We’d spotted Spring Espresso during our walks around the city and decided it was worth a try — and it didn’t disappoint. A great location and a really good cup made for a perfect way to round off the trip.
