Breakfast At Cafe 19 In Whitley Bay

We recently made a trip to the North East of England, staying in Whitley Bay. After a late arrival due to delayed trains it was the next morning before we could start to sample the local coffee options.

After a quick check of the Maps app and with good reviews and a great location on the seafront, we headed for Cafe 19 and breakfast.
It was a little chilly, so we decided to sit inside so missed the beach view. There were a number of full tables when we arrived but still plenty of room so it didn’t feel crowded. We ordered a couple of lattes while looking at the menu.

Out standard order is scrambled eggs and a sausage butty which we then share and that day was no exception. The food arrived promptly and both were well cooked and tasty.
One of the options we did like was the great bread selection available, not always the case.
The coffee was well made but we just didn’t like the blend so would order something different in the future.

Overall Cafe 19 was a good choice. The interior was inviting and an outdoor seating area is available for those warmer days. The staff were friendly and service was quick without being over bearing. A good looking selection of cakes is available, so afternoon coffee and cake could be in our future.

A quick word on accessibility. There is a slight step into the cafe and the toilets are upstairs.
